About this job
A finished cold-ply roof with a ceramic granule surface, photographed on the day it was completed. The field is even, the laps run in one direction at a consistent width, the perimeter is terminated rather than bonded on hope, and the penetrations sit in their own detailed upstands. There is no flame anywhere in the making of this roof, which is why it was the right specification for the building it went on. Cold-ply is frequently the answer on Toronto row houses, semis and rear additions, where the deck is old timber, the site is tight, and the next structure is close enough that heat is a genuine consideration rather than a paperwork exercise. What decides how long this roof lasts from here is what decides it on every low-slope roof: whether the water gets off it. Clear drains, clear scuppers, and somebody who looks at it twice a year rather than the first time it rains through a ceiling.
