Several skylight units set into a single flat roof. Multiple openings in one field change the job in two ways. Structurally, the framing has to be planned as a set rather than one opening at a time, because interrupting several joists in the same area concentrates the load transfer instead of spreading it. Practically, the curbs are set out together so the finished units line through, which is the difference between a roof that looks designed from the room below and one that looks like three separate decisions. Each curb is then flashed and tied into the membrane on its own, with the field membrane carried up and terminated, and the metal lapping over that termination. The water path between two closely spaced curbs also gets thought about here: a narrow channel between them is exactly where debris collects and where water sits after rain, so the fall between units matters as much as the fall to the drain.
