Crew members at work on a low-slope roof, photographed during a February 2021 installation. Winter roofing in Toronto is a specific discipline rather than the same job done in a coat. Material behaves differently in the cold: adhesives take longer to grab, membranes are stiffer coming off the roll and need working time, and the surface has to be genuinely dry rather than merely not raining. The working day is shorter, the deck is more slippery, and no more roof gets opened than can be closed before the light goes. What does not change is the sequence, because there is no version of this work that can be safely shortened when it is cold. These frames show the ordinary state of a job partway through: material staged where it will be used, the crew spread across the work rather than bunched at one end, and the roof around them clear enough to walk.

They came out the next morning, found a few soft spots and repaired everything the same visit. Price was very reasonable and they showed me photos of the work before and after.
